European fish fry at Crackington Haven

Thirdshade along with many other alternative surfcraft whitlers found a very blustery event over in Crackington Haven on the 14th Sept. The event was so dogged by wind that it had to move into the pub...I dont think it any coincidence that the proximity of fine ales encouraged the throngs to wax lyrical about every kind of fish you could shake a stick at. Fortunately our hardened Porthleven Thirdshade riders dodged the first round and braved the afternoon onshore gale in order to justify their soon to follow thirsts.

The evening festivities saw the planned gig by ex Reef band members Stringer Bessant and a surprise show stopping appearance by Radiohead's frontman Thom Yorke. Now that was a nice surprise.

Many thanks go out to Rob Lion from Royal surfboards for the invite who dropped the mojito bomb at the critical point in the evening which led to the Thirdshade crew quite literally looking for the third shade for the rest of the evening...

Fried fish anyone?

Up, down, sideways...mojito madness soon took hold of the leven contingent
